MYCELX marine products are engineered to remove hydrocarbons, ranging from oil to gasoline sheen, out of water in a single pass. 

MYCELX instantly solubilizes the hydrocarbon compounds and bonds them to its surface, keeping them from separating, emulsifying and releasing. MYCELX also removes oil/water & water/oil mixed emulsions.

Another significant characteristic of MYCELX is its ability to not create a differential pressure while removing pollutants. A totally saturated MYCELX filter will create only about .5 psi of pressure differential to the system, ensuring that the flow of water is never stopped. 

This is a very rare property in filtration and it's what truly separates MYCELX from other environmental waste-removal products on the market today.

All of the  MYCELX infused bilge products have been developed to remove 100% of sheen generated from gas, diesel fuel and other hydrocarbons in boat bilge water.

MYCELX, according to its technical definition, is "the reaction product of a natural drying oil and a synthetic polymer." In its natural state, MYCELX is a clear, non-toxic solid chemical, but it is transformed into a liquid with various thicknesses, depending upon how it will be used.

MYCELX Technologies Corporation has changed the paradigm for removal of organic compounds from aqueous waste streams. Until now, the primary technology utilized for removal of organic compounds from aqueous waste streams was treatment with activated carbon. The use of activated carbon relies on the physiochemical adsorption of the molecule on the granular surface of the activated carbon. This results in selective specificity of effectiveness based on molecule size, configuration, conformation and water solubility.

MYCELX Corporation has transformed this problem from one of selective adsorption to a simple matter of differential solubility. Simply stated, all organic compounds regardless of size, shape and degree of water solubility are much more soluble in MYCELX than they are in water and other media, including other organic solvents. MYCELX can completely remove all types of organic compounds ranging in size and solubility from very large and relatively water insoluble, such as PCB's, to small and semi water soluble, such as benzene, without regard for any property other than the extreme differential affinity these compounds exhibit in relation to MYCELX.

By reducing the problem to one of differential solubility, MYCELX technology has eliminated limiting factors such as vapor pressure and water solubility associated with today's technology and propelled water treatment into the 21st century.

Whether semi-soluble or insoluble in water, MYCELX-infused materials instantly bond organic compounds to their surfaces and prevent them from separating and emulsifying.
